What to Expect After Your Solar Panels are Installed.

After final installation of your solar panels can be one of the most frustrating part of the solar process!  You’ve been researching (some people for years), you made the decision and now your panels are up and you are connected to the grid. Exciting right? Unfortunately, this is the time when our customers tend to get anxious. Don’t worry, we want your system up and running as much as you and we’ll be with you at every stage of the process.

Installation (1-3 Business Days) The installation will take our in-house installers no more than 3 days on average. This is never a problem and is pretty smooth because we can be in charge of what is happening and when.

Inspection (1-4 Weeks) When your installation is finished, the city or county is required to do a final inspection before your system can be connected to the grid. Depending upon the time of year, the backlog of solar inspections, and the sheer competence of our local government, the estimated time to complete this step is generally 1-4 weeks.

System Activation (2-4 Weeks) You’re connected to the grid, now it’s just a matter of time. The utility company has to install the bi-directional meter and have it come online to track how much energy you’re producing. We have little control over how long this step is going to take which can be up to 4 weeks. What I can tell you is we have been known to show up at their office with donuts and coffee to help grease those wheels.

Final Step!

System Demo (1-2 Hours) Demonstrating your solar system; inverter reading to shut down.

Installing solar is truly a good feeling on so many levels. Improving the value of your home, saving money each month, and let’s not forget the improvement to the environment. There are a lot of positives but we also want to let our clients know about this final step as well.
