Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC)
FGBC a nonprofit 501(C)3 Florida corporation dedicated to improving the built environment in Florida.
Certification requires buildings meet a minimum point value in a variety of categories including energy, water, site, lot choice, health, materials, and disaster mitigation.
There are four levels of certification - Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum - with Bronze being the most basic and Platinum being the most green.

Energy Star
The ENERGY STAR Certified Home Program is a joint program with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that helps homebuyers easily identify homes that are significantly more energy efficient than standard homes in the marketplace. To earn the certification, a home must meet a variety of guidelines.

Florida Water Star
Florida Water Star is a water conservation certification program for new and existing homes and commercial developments in the state of Florida. The program was developed by the St. Johns River Water Management District in 2006 and became a statewide program in 2012. Standards and guidelines for water efficiency include indoor fixtures and appliances, landscape, and irrigation.
