Responsibilities 

  • Lead a team of solar installers and laborers

  • Installation and service of solar (PV) equipment for residential and commercial customers

  • Work with the warehouse team to pull materials for each installation job

  • Prepare and clean-up job site

  • Assist with the electrical wiring of all energy products

  • Layout, assembly and installation of solar array and mounting hardware

  • Provide a great customer experience

  • Conduct a JSA each day with the entire crew

  • To monitor, train, teach, and coach team in order to develop team members to become more successful

  • Evaluate, and provide monthly, and annual individualized feedback and reviews for crew members

  • Ensure that Daily Field Reports are filled out correctly and submitted daily

  • Complete job-related paperwork and submit in an orderly timely manner to appropriate individual.

  • Monitor crew member's hours, and streamline unnecessary practices in order to save time and money 

  • Being able to effectively communicate and set expectations for the crew.

  • Additional duties required as needed 

  • Being able to read blueprints

  • Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.

  • Ensure that job trailer, box, or toolboxes are kept in good order, properly stocked, and easily accessible.

 

Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

  • 1 year experience in roof work or general construction

  • Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment

  • Ability to work in reasonable weather conditions

  • Capable of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs; and performing repetitive duties, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time

  • Experience using basic hand and power tools

  • Basic computer skills preferred

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Advanced Construction Knowledge

  • Advanced Mechanical/Electrical Troubleshooting & Repair


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in Solar Installation

  • 1 Year Experience Leading Solar Installation Crews

  • High School Degree

  • Equipment Operator Certifications

  • OSHA 30 (Preferred)

  • Clean Driving Record

  • NABCEP (Preferred)


Work Schedule

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and optional Saturdays as needed. Potential for overtime is available.

15 lightyears Headquarters is located in Longwood, FL. Job is performed on various constructions sites across the state of Florida.


Training & Preferred Qualifications

  • Our Crew Leaders will provide ongoing technical training and exam preparation that will lead up to passing a RESNET HERS test. For interested technicians wishing to pursue personal Rater Certification will be provided reimbursement for fees.

  • Certified RESNET HERS Rater or Field Inspector in good standing with RESNET.

  • Previous experience or training in building trades such as roofing, air conditioning, plumbing, construction, electrical.
